Further adventures in the kitchen

Why is it when Jamie Oliver roasts peppers on the stove top gas ring it looks so cool but when I do it, it looks ugly, bumpy, pimply and the kitchen stinks of charred flesh?

Madam,

Easiest way to roast peppers is to throw them into a hot preheated oven for about 10-20 mins. Let the skin char, the flesh will remain sweet.

Take them out and put them into a zip lock bag. The remaining heat and steam will help to loosen the skin for easy peeling.

Also, never, never rinse the roasted peppers. Bits of charred skin won't affect the taste of your cooking.

cheers!

Oh, I've done it in the oven heaps of times, I just wanted to play with it on the gas ring ever since I saw Jamie Oliver do that. Guess I just haven't got his style!
