Let me know how you like Franzen. I read the new one from last year (can't even remember the title) about the family from the Midwest that was so very dysfunctional -- and you know I actually hated it. The writing was so good -- but the story / plot so deeply depressing. For the life of me I can't figure out why we think Russian style depressive novels are the greatest art. Where's the joy for our lives? Hope Les is doing well. MGW
